Cuba 2

Cuba 2 is a collection about warmth. Palms and rainforest canopies drawn in fine line, jungle scenes that run the full height of a wall, beaded folk-botanicals in coral and teal — and behind them 22 linen-textured plains in every shade the prints borrow from, so a feature wall and its neighbours can come from the same book.

The Caribbean is the mood; the making is thoroughly European. Every roll is printed in Germany by AS Création, one of Europe's largest wallcovering manufacturers, to the standards that come with it — colour-fast inks with good light fastness, a scrubbable surface, CE marking and FSC®-certified paper, and among the lowest indoor air emissions in the industry. That matters more here than it does in Europe: Bangkok humidity finds out a cheap wallpaper within a season.

Everything is printed on non-woven backing — dimensionally stable, and dry-removable in whole strips when the lease ends, which makes it kind to rented walls. Rolls are 10.05 metres by 53 centimetres. Six designs come instead as repeatable wall panels, 1.59 or 3.71 metres wide by 2.80 high, for a single uninterrupted jungle scene.
