Let's be honest about what "imported" means on a Bangkok wallpaper price tag. Sometimes it means a designer's archive, printed on a press with a century of practice behind it. Sometimes it means a roll that crossed one border. If you're looking for European wallpaper in Thailand, the difference is worth knowing before you fall in love with a pattern.
Here's a walk through the three European strands we curate at Whiterose, the home of international wallpaper and fabrics in Thailand: German, Italian and British. What each house is actually like, what it costs per square metre, which 2026 trends it answers, and how to choose one for a condo where the afternoon sun does not negotiate.
What a European house buys you (and what it doesn't)
Three things, mostly. Design: the patterns come from studios and archives, so the drawing is good and the colourways are considered. Consistency: the house prints its own books, so the roll you order matches the sample you held. Substrate: most contemporary European wallpaper is printed on non-woven backing, a fibre-and-paper blend that stays dimensionally stable, is scrubbable, and comes off dry when you're ready for a change.

The German strand: AS Création, printed in Germany from ฿500/sqm
Germany is where a great deal of the world's everyday-luxury wallpaper is made, and AS Création is one of its best-known presses. Think clean colour, refined texture and easy-living non-woven rolls (10.05 metres by 53 centimetres, with most patterns backed by matching plains in the same palette).

The Italian strand: Versace, from ฿1,200/sqm
Some walls are meant to be noticed. Versace VI brings the maison's couture codes, baroque scrolls, the Medusa and the gilded Greek key, to metallic, richly textured vinyl. It sits in our Signature tier from ฿1,200/sqm, and it makes one wall the room's centre of gravity.
The trick with Versace is restraint everywhere else. One wall behind the bed or the dining table, plain walls around it, and lighting that lets the metallics catch. It is not a paper for four walls of a 35-square-metre studio. It is a paper for the wall you want people to remember.
The British strand: OHPOPSI in wallpaper, Morris & Co. in fabric
Britain gives us two very different voices. OHPOPSI is the contemporary one: bold, hand-drawn wallpaper with playful botanicals and joyful colour, in our Premium tier from ฿400/sqm. Wild brings the jungle indoors, from soft rainforest greens to deep jewel tones. Jardin is a garden in six hand-drawn designs. Riches of Nature gathers vintage toiles and watercolour florals, Laid Bare pares it back to natural tones and subtle geometrics, and When I Grow Up turns a child's room into woodland, farmyard or safari.
Then there is the heritage voice. Morris & Co. is the Arts & Crafts archive that the entire heritage-revival trend keeps borrowing from. With us it comes as fabric rather than wallpaper: Flora & Foliage and The Forager, printed, woven and embroidered botanicals for curtains and upholstery, from ฿1,700–3,800/sqm. Pair a Morris curtain with a quiet AS Création plain and you have the look without a single busy wall.
What Europe is saying for 2026, and which book answers it
The trend reports coming out of Europe's January fairs are unusually consistent this year.
- Tactile texture. The phrase doing the rounds is warm minimalism: neutral palettes with silk, linen and grass-based wallcoverings for quiet depth. Answer: Cosiness or the plains in The Trend Spectrum.
- Heritage revival, softened. Damasks, chinoiserie and Morris-style botanicals in warmer, garden-friendly colours rather than sharp contrasts. Answer: History of Art 2, Riches of Nature, and Morris & Co. at the window.
- Earthy vibrancy. Mossy greens, clay ochres and mineral blues with botanical motifs. Heimtextil's 26/27 palette is grounded in sand, clay and olive too. Answer: Wild, Cuba 2, Anna d'Andrea.
- Romantic maximalism. Layered florals, gilt and saturated colour for people who've had enough of beige. Answer: Versace VI, obviously.
- Hand-drawn character. Heimtextil's theme this year was "Craft is a verb", a celebration of the human hand alongside the machine. Answer: every OHPOPSI book, which is illustrated by hand before it's printed.
How to choose for a Bangkok condo
Start with humidity, not pattern. Non-woven backings (all the AS Création and OHPOPSI books) and vinyl (Versace) both cope well with our climate once the wall is dry and primed. The wall preparation matters more than the country of origin. Our fitters check and prepare the surface as part of installation, which is quoted separately: ฿1,800 for the first 30 m², then ฿250 per further roll.
Then light. Bangkok light is bright and warm. Metallics glow in it; very pale plains can wash out. If your wall faces the afternoon sun, a mid-tone texture is kinder than a stark white.
Then scale. A large repeat (the distance before a pattern starts again) needs a wall wide enough to show it twice. In a compact bedroom, a small-scale motif or a plain with texture reads as calm. In a double-height living room, a big botanical earns its space.

Yes, with the right backing and a properly prepared wall. Non-woven and vinyl papers are dimensionally stable and scrubbable. The failures you've heard about are almost always damp walls or rushed prep, not the paper.
What does imported wallpaper cost per square metre?
Our European wallpaper sits in two tiers: premium from ฿400/sqm (AS Création and OHPOPSI) and signature from ฿1,200/sqm (Versace). Morris & Co. fabric is from ฿1,700–3,800/sqm. Installation is always itemised separately.
How long does it take to arrive?
It depends on the book and whether we hold it in stock or order it in. Rather than promise a number here, send us the pattern name and we'll tell you honestly for that specific roll.
